Cormack Lake Hunting Camp is situated in southwestern
Newfoundland adjacent to the Long Range Mountains.
It is approximately 55 miles southwest of Deer
Lake, NL and is a complete wilderness location
accessible only by floatplane. Cormack Lake Camp
offers moose, woodland caribou and black bear
hunting. Single animal hunts are available along
with combination hunts for both moose and caribou.
A black bear licence can also be added to the
above hunts. The hunting season begins in mid
September and ends late in October.

Appalachian

frontier of Newfoundland and this is home to the
woodland caribou. More than five thousand strong
the LaPoile woodland caribou herd is the second
largest herd of Caribou on the island of Newfoundland.
The caribou hunting season opens mid-August when
the small scattered groups of mature bulls start
to herd up.
